Uganda Trip 2014

Hope Grafted In has a team that is currently en route to Uganda on their Independence Day! How wonderful that our group will get to visit and celebrate the freedom of our friends at Sangaalo and Ebenezer as well as the community around them just after their holiday of recognizing their freedom. Stay tuned for updates, photos, and stories from their trip in a future blog post or throughout the week on Facebook. This is the 52nd year of Independence for Uganda.

A current Ugandan spoke out about his feelings of their country’s Independence today saying, “Ugandans have achieved a lot in the past 52 years due to the current peace in northern Uganda. To me we have moved a long way to achieve this dream so we are independent. Government is doing its best,” Isaac Amanzuru, Boda-Boda rider , Gulu.

Another native, business woman says, “I wish to congratulate Uganda upon making it to its 52nd independence anniversary though the struggle continues since majority Ugandans have not benefited much due to current economic hardships in the country. Carolyne Kansiime, business woman, Rubirizi district.

It seems that Ugandans are happy with their freedom, however there are still struggles that they continue to face. Although we cannot vote to change laws in Uganda, our role in supporting this country that we partner with is to pray for them. Pray for their patience, pray for their strength, and pray for their safety. By doing this, we can continue to support the people of our ministry partners and their community.
