Sangaalo Summer 2016 Update

A message from Damalie

Greetings our dear friends and partners. We are really privileged to have you as part of this Ministry and thankful for the part you each play, whether financial, spiritual, material, moral or otherwise. It is this team work that keeps us serving Him through this wonderful Ministry. Because of what the Lord has done, we are therefore glad to share with you praises for the achievements and challenges, but also prayer requests for the next month.

Health of Children

Our children have really benefited from our doctor who visits our home each week. We are thankful for the financial provision for this gift. This month they have been happy and healthy. The children in are home who are HIV positive have high viral loads after their recent test results. The doctor suggests we change their diet and give them nutritional supplement.. We will need help with the cost of supplements for them. We are looking for someone to sponsor $100 each month for this cost. If you would like to cover this need, please email us. Letter from our doctor, John Paul, explaining why we need this for the children.

Sponsoring a Child

We are so thankful for our sponsors. We have many children who still need a sponsor. To find out more information, email us.

Achievements

I am glad to let you know you know that God been faithful, and by His grace, we have achieved the following:

  • Outdoor Pavilion/Dining for the children: With the generous contribution from all our dear friends and partners, we have been able to construct the children’s dining which currently doubles as a multipurpose hall for the babies home. This is a real blessing to the home and we are very thankful to God. Remembering very huge stones that were crashed and a lot of marram that was excavated, I say thank you lord because the dining now stands here and is now already in its use.

  • Pavers: Again I thank God that the paving project is on. We have so far finished paving the front side of the Babies house. We are now left with the area between the babies shower rooms and the babies house, the behind side of the babies house and the area between the kitchen and the pavilion/dining area.

  • The Hope Grafted in team did a tremendous work in helping us with the compound. Members drove in our Toyota Noah to go look for the grass, brought and planted it and it is growing though challenges with dry spell. Team members also bought some fruit trees and beautiful shrub plants which were planted to act as a barrier/fence to deter children from falling off the higher level.

  • The youngest babies are growing steadily. They are doing well and we thank god for the health He has given. We also thank the ladies who tirelessly commit their time and energy serving these precious ones.

  • We are also thankful to God for the piggery. One of our pigs has delivered 9 piglets! Praise God. We pray that they will grow and expand on the project. We are now left with the task of setting up new pig sties and feeding them.

Prayer Requests

  • Good health among the children and staff
  • We plan to introduce a Micro credit and savings project to help boost household incomes of the children’s guardians, HIV positive single mothers and the elderly. This is because as these babies grow, we resettle them back to their guardians, most of whom are financially handicapped, and living as single parents who toil to meet the immediate needs of their family members. We have already started on the training programme for the identified people and we excitedly looking forward to sharing more testimonies

Projects/Current Needs

  • Completion of the paving project. Remaining cost:$2500 More detailed info on this project.
  • Build our farm. We need to move the farm from close to the baby home to our land nearby. Having the animals and all that comes with them so close is not healthy for our babies. We want to do this, but teh government also requires it if we are to keep the animals we already own and use to sustain our home. We own the land adjacent to the baby home and would like to move the farm there. TOTAL COST: $7400.
  1. Farm attendants quarters. $3100 Building plan & detailed info
  2. Cattle Pen $1300 Building plan & detailed info
  3. Pig House $1400 Building plan & detailed info
  4. Farm Fencing $1500 Building plan & detailed info

Give to Sangaalo’s needs. Thank you!

Once again I want to thank you so much for your contribution towards the success of Sangaalo Babies Home. May our good Lord continue to abanduntly and sufficiently bless you as we minister Jesus’ love to the precious little ones. Its all about Him.

Wishing you the best in all your endeavors.

Yours in service,
