Sangaalo School

Sangaalo has entered a new season in the life of their home. Ten of the oldest toddlers are now going to school!
Grace, Richard, Oscar, Noah, William, Andrew, Faith, Sam and even Sarah and Samalie, who have been resettled, are taken everyday in the Sangaalo van over to the new property. There stands Nsenge Community School, a temporary structure (that doubles as their church) where the Sangaalo kids plus 30 kids from the community come from 8:30-1:00. There are still many more in the community that would love to join this school, as it is in a rural area where there aren’t many quality schools available. Three qualified teachers help the kids learn about the outside environment, how to socialize and make new friends, and increasing their vocabulary. They also receive porridge and lunch every day. The school currently has 3 classes: Baby Class for 2-3yrs, a combined Middle & Top Class for 4-5yrs, and P1 for 6-7yrs.

Damalie thinks that even though they may not have been ready for school just yet, they can still use this experience to get ready, while at the same time getting used to the new place for when they finally move there. They already like the pigs, cow and chickens! In Damalie’s words “the School is a huge blessing to everyone involved. Believe me the toddlers are really happy and more active since they get to play and run around alot at School.”
