TRIP OVERVIEW

Dates: April 6-13, 2015 (5 days in country)
Total Trip Cost: $1300 per person (not including airfare)
Team Leaders: Shelley Brown
Location: Kenya
Team Size: 10 people max
Age requirements: 9 and over with a parent, 16 and over without.

SCHEDULE DETAILS
Each team member will fly from his/her home airport and will meet up as a team at the destination airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where the group will then proceed together through immigration and on with the in-country schedule.
This team will spend most of the time in Nakuru, Kenya encouraging and building relationship with the believers that give of their lives daily taking care of the children at Haven of Hope Children’s Home. At this home, the team will play with the kids, do VBS style lessons, help the staff with daily chores, as well as do some market shopping and worship with them on Sunday. The team will spend time with the directors of Haven listening to their stories and encouraging them any way they need.

This team will also spend some time in the community meeting practical needs and pouring out the love of Jesus through conversation and prayer.

TRIP PURPOSE
The main purpose of this trip is for sponsors to connect with their sponsored children and for us to continue building relationship with our partner ministries. However, if you aren’t sponsoring a child, this trip is still for you. It will be an opportunity to build relationships with orphaned and vulnerable children as well as their caregivers and the homes they live in. You will gain further awareness and knowledge so that you will be equipped to speak up on their behalf.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAM MEMBERS
All documents plus the deposit must be turned in to us within 2 weeks from the time you sign up for the trip.

Team Member Commitment: We ask team members to read and agree with the following statement: I understand that the mission trip starts the day I apply for the trip and agree that, as a part of a Hope Grafted In mission team, I am committing to reading all emails and materials pertaining to the trip, and responding when necessary. I understand that these communications are needed to maximize the effectiveness of my team on the mission field, to prepare each person for the trip and to build team unity.

COST & PAYMENT INFO
Total Trip Cost: $1300 per person (not including airfare)

Trip Payment Schedule:
DUE AT SIGN-UP $500 DEPOSIT
DUE FEB 1, 2014 FINAL BALANCE DUE

The following items are included in the trip cost:
• 3 meals a day in-country
• Accommodations based on sharing rooms with other team members
• In-country transportation
• Leaders for the team
• Visa fee
• Passport to Ministry Insurance Coverage (medical, liability, travel and security assistance services)
• Administrative costs
• Excursion costs when applicable and part of the trip itinerary

Costs not included in the trip price are: meals on airport travel days when traveling to and from the US, any fees associated with baggage or immunizations, passport, personal shopping money and incidentals such as snacks, additional beverages, laundry, phone calls, and other personal items.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO
VACCINATIONS
HGI advises all travelers to read the US Department of State background notes on their website. Travelers can also check the latest health information with the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention at http://www.cdc.gov to get the most recent health advisories, immunization recommendations/requirements, and advice on food and drinking water safety for regions and countries. We also suggest that all participants consult their physician before traveling abroad.

PAYING FOR YOUR TRIP
HGI encourages our team members to raise support. You and your donors can make tax deductible payments toward your trip total by mailing checks to Hope Grafted In or paying online and selecting Ministry Trip in the drop down menu as well as indicating your name in the Other Comments box.

FLIGHT & TRAVEL INFO
HGI will book the leader’s flight approximately 4 months in advance through the organization Fly For Good. If you would like to ensure you are on the leader’s international flight, we recommend you purchase your ticket simultaneously (we will assist you with this). If you are not able or do not wish to purchase your ticket with this arrangement, you will be responsible for booking your flights on your own (you will need to verify with us what time you should arrive in country). Your trip cost DOES NOT include airfare so even if you book with us you will be responsible for all flight costs.

After you book your flights you will need to send the itinerary to us for our records.
