Haven August Update

Hallo Family and Friends,

I greet you all in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. I hope all is well with you and your families. It is with much gratitude that I write to you all. First and foremost, Lots of Hugs and kisses from Haven family. We believe God has kept you in good health and given you peace to guard your heart and mind.

The children are home for holidays and they will go back on 30th of this month. It is the shortest break they have in their school year. They have performed generally well and we thank God for the success. July and august are very cold months for us and this year it was even more cold to an extent that we had almost all the children with a cold or flu accompanied by headaches and chest pain but with a few medication we were able to treat the children.

We enjoyed a visit by Hope Grafted In team who spent two days with us and got to celebrate January to July birthdays for the children together with us, we had an awesome time and the children enjoyed the most. We had our friends over and the children also invited their friends too. A lot of food was provided and everyone was satisfied not only that, Anne made very sweet cakes that everyone fell in love with. We also prayed for our children who will be doing their final primary school Exam in early November. This would not have been possible if you did not contribute towards the celebration.

They also surprised the children with a gift of text books from their sponsors. We bought text books since they are the most important and also a bit expensive that only the affluent can afford them but this time round you made it possible for the children to enjoy having their own books for studies that are helpful in their school curriculum. We appreciate your giving and pray that as you gave God gives back to you 100 folds. We also got to spend a couple of few more days with Ms Shelley. We were happy to have her all to ourselves.

Last month we replaced out fifty broken windows at our premises that the children had broken and we had an understanding with them that they won’t break anymore window glasses….children!! Our landlord has continued to build the house that we are supposed to rent as soon as she is done building. For a while now we have had masons, carpenters in our compound working on the house. We are asking God for His divine wisdom on the way forward.

The green house is up and the plants are growing so fast. We owe this progress to Hope Grafted In for the pump and electricity installation and also to our friend Ross for the help given by his friends towards the completion of the full contract of the green house construction. We might be needing pesticides, insecticides and herbicides soon to help in controlling diseases and insects.

We were also honored to have our friends from Ireland Ross and Claire who brought a long with them John and Emma. We had fun spending time with them when we got time since I have been in school and the shop is really demanding. Ross and Emma remained behind and we thank God for the opportunity to have hosted them in our own house and also at Haven and for the smiles they have left on our children. They also bought cooking stoves for haven and paid for part of the tables and chairs for Haven. This will help the children have a place to dine from and also study.

There is still work to be done to finish the tables and chairs and this will be our prioritized need for this month as we also raise funds to buy book shelves/lockers for the children. (See breakdown of cost here.)

Total Needed $1400

You might be asking if the school fees are paid….Yes they are, all the fees have been paid up by JONA.eV (Hannah) organization in Germany. We are so grateful to all who gave towards the children’s fees and ensured they continue to enjoy the benefits of education which is a key to their success in the future. Thank you so much everyone!!

Prayer Request….Graces’(one of our staff) daughter gave birth to a very handsome boy….but a few days after her discharge the boy passed on due to some breathing difficulties. The daughter is in the hospital because she had an infection after giving birth but she is getting better. Keep this family in your prayers for God to comfort them and give them Peace.

Child Sponsorship

As our children grow, their financial needs grow as well. We will be raising our sponsorship costs in January 2017 to $75 monthly. We still have one child who needs a sponsor. Thank you!

Haven Sponsorships

To all those who gave either their time in prayers, talking to friends about us and resources, may the God of more than enough Himself give you everything you desire exceedingly, abundantly, far above what you can think of and according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

May your endeavors flourish and bear fruits in every area of your life!!

Hugs and kisses from Haven,

Joseph
