Be Involved in Orphan Sunday

As previously mentioned, Orphan Sunday is November 2nd. Here are a few ways to be involved and honor Orphan Sunday.

Some churches, communities, or individuals celebrate Orphan Sunday every year. Other may not have had the opportunity before but here are a few great ways to honor Orphans around the world.

1. Do an Advent for Orphans Calendar. This is a great daily reminder of scriptures and ways to remember and support Orphans. Here is a link with calendars and resources available for this: https://www.lifesongfororphans.org/get-involved/advent/

2. Take part in an Orphan’s Table and experience a meal that orphans receive around the world. Experience this with your family or small group and discuss and pray with those around you about a typical day in the life of an orphan. Sometimes it takes an experience and not just a thought to grasp the harsh realities of living a life as an orphan. The following link has meals available to order: http://orphansunday.org/orphans-table-continues/

3. Partner with an organization or small group and plan an Orphan Sunday Event with a Partnership Package. This link has wonderful resources to follow through with this including event ideas/themes and activities! http://orphansunday.org/plan-an-event/

4. Contact your Regional Orphan Sunday Coordinator to notify them of your event or ask questions. http://orphansunday.org/contact/

“Orphan Sunday isn’t about charity; it’s about the mission of Christ. I pray that every Gospel-transformed congregation will observe Orphan Sunday, calling all Christians to our mandate to image Christ by caring for his little brothers and sisters, the fatherless of the world.” —Dr. Russell Moore, author Adopted for Life
