Achievements for 2019

Children’s Home

Thought 2019 the children were supported with feeding, scholastic materials and health care that included the mass immunization that was organized by Government against measles, sleep in treated mosquito Nets and have enough time to play so as to build their\socialization skills .The nutrition activity was very beneficial towards increased memorization, disease prevention and general health growth of children and would be very important to continue with as sustainability program in the ministry.

It is a blessing to us as a family to see our children grow and more so while serving the Lord.

Health;

The nutrition activity was very beneficial towards increased memorization, disease prevention and general health growth of children and would be very important to continue with as sustainability program in the ministry.

Our children were immunized against measles, polio, under which an achievement towards our child wellbeing of the children at Ebenezer.

The presence of our health worker ( at the Ebenezer home) was a great advantage as far as health is concern, the few cases of sick children who were reported sick were handle by immediately and got we.

well as raising money to create more ponds in the near future. Currently we are taking care of 2000 fish at this pond.

Visitors: We had visitors from different places who came and impacted greatly in the lives of our children and the community.

The school has a total of 383 pupils of which 245 are females and 138 are males from Primary One to Primary Seven. The school a total of 17 staff of which 13 Teachers of which 07 are females and 06 are males. 02 cooks, 01night guard and 01 matron.

School cost sharing program

In 2019, 45 kids have been supported under the cost sharing sponsorship program. The cost sharing sponsorship program has benefited many. Ranging from nursery to secondary. A total of 52 children did a national examination of which 07 are under cost sharing sponsorship program.

Girls club;

The year 2019 also saw us launch the girl’s club at school and meetings at club level were guided and held throughout in their respective classes as planned. This arrangement handles issues in line with spiritual empowerment, reproductive health, guidance and counseling as far as academic and other everyday life issues are concerned. The weekly programs as planned at school played a big role towards building self-esteem and also creating awareness amongst girls.

Considering the out-going pupils as pillars in marketing and reaching the community with all school programs, this in turn has created a linkage as these messages shared during the classes can now help the children as a life skill and can further be passed to brothers and sisters as the next generation and leaving the community informed about the importance of keeping a child at our school seen with grate impact and further the time the school allows to nurture a girl child makes Ebenezer Children’s Ministry Nursery and Primary School unique because Prayer and Hard work is our Key to Success.

Church update

Ebenezer Christian Center church carried out baptism of new believers. A total of 11 people were baptized by immersion as a sign of obedience and to follow the command of our lord Jesus Christ.

As church we also managed to conduct over-night prayers, and the last prayer Night that we called “the independence worship night”, at Ebenezer church in the month of October , we believe that prayer is a weapon and tool that overcomes the devil and helps a Christian to grow and learn to worshiping God. We were joined with many other believers and non-believers from different parts of the district all totaling to about 500 people that night.

Man Up and Go discipleship classes:

The ministry also further registered blessing with a Man Up and Go Authentic masculinity program which was started in August, 2019 at Ebenezer Christian center as a learning center.

In Kibuku district 30 participants are for the program but out of these, 10 men are taking on their classes at Ebenezer church while the 20 participants are at Bulangira. The said program herein operates under the vision of a father for every child and a mission to spark a passion in our men to fight for the fatherless at home and abroad as Jesus commissioned , the program is empowering Christians in income generation, leadership development and Biblical foundation .

Acquisition of Computer

In the course of the year, the ministry also received two laptops from Hope Grafted In. The machine ThinkPad Ultrabook in making was a blessing to the ministry in that before, the ministry had a challenge in preparing reports for correspondence. We therefor take this opportunity moment to register our sincere gratitude to all our beloved sponsors for the continued support in all areas of our operations. May the good Lord richly bless you all.

Strategies for next year.

Capacity building of the human resource more especially the care givers at the children’s home. We look forward to having Additional training that will provide them with skills on cultural diversity awareness, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, emergency and safety procedures and hygiene awareness. This will provide them with skills to teach, communicate and build relationships with the children as well as the volunteers within their placement.

Construction of new classes There is need to construct a 4 class room block in order to bridge the existing gap. This would also include the administrative block to ease the services of teachers. During the construction of the said classrooms; it’s important to retool with desks, teacher’s furniture and black boards.

Food security and livelihood, We plan to establish a sustainable food security which will lead to improved health and boast the potential of the physical and mental nurturing of children in addition to the FISH FARMING .The initiative to conduct food security and livelihood interventions will lead to increased local food production that will reduce the cost of buying food from the local market, the planned projects are poultry rearing, fish farming and pig rearing These
interventions are geared towards supporting orphans and vulnerable children with supplemental nutrition, build orphans skills in farming, diversify ministry income and demonstrate modern farming to communities.

Construction of family units would increase on the space and health of the children

Water harvesting from the school roof would be another diversified strategy for water availability

Enhance on school cost sharing fees sponsorship program

Learning Visits, As strategy to build capacity of management coupled with exposures; it’s important for staff to hold annual learning and exposures trips where more linkages can be built, reflections and actions made for it can lead to increased resource mobilization for sustainable project implementation. The 2020 plan intends to have the board and management conduct learning visits to four orphanages in Uganda in an effort to build synergy and partnership towards institutional development.

Conduct church conferences and crusade.

Boost the sound equipment of the church.

Current Needs

New uniforms for the home kids, the ones we purchased in 2018 are now worn out. Each at 30,000 x 58 =1,740,000= 483.3 dollars.

Need of new bedsheets for some children 15 x 50,000= 750,000= (208.3)

Electricity Connectivity Project to School and church,

Ebenezer ministry primary school is challenged with inadequate power, the solar panels are slightly weak and determined by weather to have the light. Besides that the properties that were acquired by the school are at threat due to failure of adequate light that can enable the guard to adequately monitor so as to avoid theft. Other gadgets need to have adequate light that can run the machines and be utilized.

In Uganda we have the hydro electrical power generated by water and this serves better because its strong to light up the school looking at its compound and classrooms. The light can help the pupils and teachers to have an evening preps that can in the long run improve on the pupil’s performances. The electricity connectivity project to church will reduce on the costs of fueling the generators that is done every Sunday and whenever we converge for prayers (like mid services. electricity connectivity project at church and school Connection to school is estimated at 2,000,000= 555.5 dollars this will cover all the costs of wiring all the classes and dormitories. Connection to church is estimated at 1,100,000, 305.5 dollar, this will cover all the costs of wiring. This totals to 3,100,000 ugs (861dollars)

Upgrade Sound equipment for the church, looking at size of the church and following the number of the planned activities, the current sounds system is not enough, we hope empowering the Ebenezer Christian center by equipping it with better equipment, thus making it easier to, hold open air crusades and conferences. To have two full range speakers 1,600,000= 444 dollars and amp mixture cost 1,000,000= 277.7dollars jazban estimated 2,600,000= 722.2
dollars

We are extremely humbled for your continued support to Ebenezer as an institution geared towards providing care and protection to orphans and vulnerable children by identifying and nurturing the HIV infected and affected child in Uganda.

We look forward and pray for continued ,support , Networking, Collaboration and Partnership in the course of 2020.

Happy New Year
