Ebenezer February Update

We wish to thank all the partners and sponsors for their involvement and participation in taking part to speak for the least of the very least and fathering the fatherless. It has been through your handful support that we are able to change the lives of the vulnerable children and reach so many unreached souls in the remote areas of Uganda since Ebenezer Children’s Ministry started and more so in the month of January.

Health of Children

All the children being taken care at the orphanage are healthy except James and Gabe who developed eye itching and red eyes. After being diagnosed, it was discovered that they had bacterial infection. Treatment was administered amidst control of any spread of the infection in the orphanage. So far they got healed up. We thank God for keeping our children healthy in the month of January. We give appreciation to every sponsor who have stood with us in prayer, may God bless them.

Feeding

The children were fed with balanced diet that has strengthened their growth and immunity against some diseases hence we have realized an improved health among the children

The challenge we are grappling with is the prolonged drought which started in June 2016 to date and the situation has led to increase of commodity prices throughout the country however we give God the glory that we were able to stock enough food to take us through the month besides we having been able to have a supplementary diet for our children which has improved their health

See a photo of Baby Loy so healthy because of the supplementary nutrition

Education

In an effort to access legal documents that allow Ebenezer children ministry primary school to operate; we have completed the requirement documents to the district education office for onward submission to ministry of education as we continue to functionalize

The school opened for term one on 16th January 2017 and old and new children reported to school. We praise God for the knowledge and wisdom for our children for majority have performed excellent in their end of year exams and achieved good grades we pray they keep up the pace.

We are grateful for the sponsorship of our children that their fees and requirement are provided in time. Tuition for the three children whom we send to Boarding school, Joy, Gilda, Leslie, was provided in time, I take the honor to appreciate friends that stood with us and met this Need.

School cost sharing sponsorship program

The school sponsorship program is still on and is steadily increasing. We appreciate those sponsors who have sacrificed so much towards this program. The need is still big owing to the fact that the majority of our community is very low income earners and mostly depends on farming for survival. Therefore cost sharing is a remedy somehow since it reduces on the amount payable for tuition.

Church

As Ebenezer Christian Center continues to make a concerted effort to build it on the foundation of Christ, and to remain focused on our shared purpose of discipleship. Pr. George and Sylvia in the month of January demonstrated their love to the church in this period of drought by donating 200 kgs of maize flour to the church and every member who came was blessed with about 3kgs.

Update on Pastor and his family

I have been healthy and well throughout the month of January I have been able to spend the whole month with my family. My Girl Leslie got holidays I enjoyed time with family as we celebrated Leslie’s birth day on the 8th of January 2017. I want to appreciate all friends that have been praying for us and stood with us in any way in the Month of January.

Vehicle

Transport which has been the greatest need and the quickest and better means of of the ministry programs like school, church and the children’s home transporting the children who may any time fall sick to the hospital has been met,

Current Financial Needs

We hope the construction of the temporal church will contribute to increased space as a result of increased number of believers who have massively responded due to greater commissions undertaken. This will be coupled with the initiatives of church programs like youth children women which will enhance on the behaviors change, increased motivation to prayers among others. The balance needed for completion of the structure is estimated to $2700.

The rent on the children’s home is $1400 and is due soon.

School Uniforms, these are used for identification and avoid discrimination among the pupils, the old uniforms are worn out because during the school times they are washed about twice a week. Because of the big number of un-sponsored children it is expensive for us to provide a new uniform for all the children we are calling out for help as this is concern, today we have about 50 kids that need uniform and each is sold
at $6. $300 for each child have a new pair of uniforms.

Beddings it important to remember that every time we get a new child, there is need for new beddings; currently we need new mattress, blanket, bed sheet. last year we had 12 new children recruited that are in need for the above to have all these will cost about $ 388
