Ebenezer December Update

Thank you for your faithful giving towards Ebenezer Children’s Ministry. Your gifts and financial support make it possible for the children and families; we serve to receive transforming care in the name of Jesus.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope. And my sincere prayer for you — and for all Ebenezer sponsors and donors — is that you are filled with abounding hope, joy and peace as you trust in Him through all seasons of life. Because of God’s faithfulness and your dedication, children are receiving life changing care. What a privilege it is to transform lives together, in the name of Jesus. Thank you for allowing God to use you in such a powerful way!

Background

Ebenezer is a nonprofit organization with faith based foundation which was established as a result of the existing vulnerability of orphans and vulnerable children with the mission of giving care and protection to orphans and disadvantaged children by identifying, nurturing and parenting the HIV infected and affected child. It envisions creating a Just and fair Society where an HIV infected and affected Ugandan child will be safe, healthy in a loving home and have their aspirations fulfilled.

EDUCATION

This is one of our areas to praise our God This month, our school has successfully ended and all the pupils are now in their long holiday. Except a few, the rest of the children have performed very well in school, we thank God for their performance. This term we did not have a lot of issues with their health, they were all in good health and we pray it continues to be even better as we move on. The Ebenezer Children are back at the center for the holidays which means we will get to spend time with them…Awesome! This time the holiday is longer than before since the children will be with us for about two months. We organized a graduation function of the nursery pupils (graduating from top to primary one) that was geared towards pupils realizing benefit of good performance, and a bicycle race between the pupils aimed at developing their skills.

Health of the children

We are grateful to God who has kept our children alive and healthy. We had Fred with chicken poxes which is contagious given the big number of children in the dormitory but we praise the Lord that No other child was infected.

Staff Update

Ebenezer staff appreciates you for joining them in prayer any time they call for. In this month through your prayers we had social worker (Agnes) give birth to baby Boy Joshua and teacher Beatrice gave birth to a baby girl.

Aunt Esther one of our staff is soon expecting, please continue to pray with her for safe delivery. It brings joy to ministry as our staff grow and become mothers

FARMING

The prolonged drought which started in the month of June 2016, has affected the second season where most of the crops dried up like maize, g/nuts, beans, and other crops like cassava affected with some pests and diseases, this situation has generated a threat to food security and livelyhood at household and community level.

As from our garden we have lost all the maize we planted

Child Sponsorship

We are so thankful for our sponsors. We have many children that still need a sponsor. Email us for more info.

Update on Pastor and his family

These three make my joy realized. They are the first ministry God has called me to minister onto and they are such a blessing to me.

Grateful to the lord, my wife was blessed to participate in a Forum for women in Democracy youth dialogue in Kampala, that I hope the lessons learnt will Not only benefit the youth at Ebenezer but Kibuku
youths at large.

Directors message on High food prices

As a result of unpredictable weather changes, this has affected the cost of living, due to scarcity. Ebenezer has realized a challenge of providing an effective service to children being taken care at the center due to progressive increment of food prices, putting in mind that some children are not sponsored and thus share that which is sent to the few.

It is my plea, to seek for emergency fund to support the children, with adequate and nutritious food so as to minimize the possible outbreak of malnutrition and diseases

Church

As Ebenezer Christian center continues to grow in size and complexity, we know we must make a concerted effort to build it on the foundation of Christ, and to remain focused on our shared purpose of grooming children in God fearing way. I believe that theme is appropriate for everyone involved in Ebenezer’s work — including our faithful sponsors and donors. Our efforts are multiplied when we work in unity toward our common goal, when we are “One ... on Purpose.” It’s a privilege to link arms with you in unity as we demonstrate God’s amazing love.

I am Grateful to God that Sylvia is able to stand and lead a service, mentor women and youth that is a sign of growth.

Current Financial Needs

  • Christmas party, As a faith based organization we give it a special time to honor and remember the Birth of our Lord Jesus. This celebration has always been possible because of your partnership, (work done by sponsors and friends) we hope this annual celebration will bring to about 350 children, which will create a big impact in Kibuku community to do this we need every one’s support. For sponsors, partners and friends it is a wonderful opportunity to impact the lives of these children with the gospel through Christmas party giving. To have this achieved, we need $1200 by December 15.
  • We hope the construction of the temporal church will contribute to increased space as result of increased number of believers who have massively responded due to great commissions undertaken. This will be coupled with the initiatives of church programs like youth children women which will enhance on the behaviors change, increased motivation to prayers among others. We have begun the structure with gifts to date of $1000 from Hope Grafted In and $300 from Man Up. The balance needed for completion of the structure is estimated to $2700.
  • Transport is our greatest need, as our core program is dealing with the children who may any time fall sick, and need to quickly be rushed to the hospital a vehicle is necessary, also for easy monitoring of these programs of the school, church and the children it worth noting that a vehicle is needed. Addition to the above, our shopping and Banks are as far as Mbale which about 30 to 40 minutes drive to have a transaction. A reliable vehicle will cost $5000 and we still need $2500.

Give to Ebenezer’s Needs. Thank you!
