Ebenezer August Update
JULY REPORT
Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ
What ‘a year’ these past months have been of 2020 have been. Phew!
This Covid 19 “New normal” era has made us roll up sleeves to do more than we expected.
We have engaged our children in the farming and put more efforts in the fish farming, have continued with fellowship and bible study with our children, we continued distributing the learning materials and guiding our children at home. All the above are geared towards meeting our key objectives.
Children’s Home.
We do thank the Almighty God for the Divine protection as all of our children are healthy and doing well in this trying time. We also do thank our sponsors for the continued support you render to the children’s wellbeing.
We have continued with fellowship and bible study with our children as our core program(area of intervention) and our kids love it ,besides, the fellowship we have always engaged our kids in various games like football, cards and do interact with the children so as to know how they are doing.
With the help of the sponsorship fee, we have been able to access learning materials for our kids and even to those under the school cost sharing sponsorship program. We have continually provided these learning materials to the kids and guided them so that they don’t miss what is being taught by others on TVS and Radios until schools will be opened. We are still deeply grateful to all our sponsors who have continually contributed to the children’s needs.
Construction of The Pit Latrine.
We thank God for enabling us complete the pit latrine at Ebenezer Children’s Ministry Primary School. The six-stanza pit latrine will provide more space for use . This is very important that we now have separate rooms for boys and Girls.
We thank everyone for the donations towards the completion of the pit latrine more so Rev. Rich from Man Up and Go.
Fish Pond Farming
New fingerings. From the savings of our old fish pond, we have managed to purchase one thousand(1,000) new finger rings for our fish pond. This time round we have stocked our fish pond with 1,000 tilapia fingerings.
The funds also helped us to construct other two new ponds. One pond will accommodate 1500 fingerings and the other 4000 fingerings.
Construction of Other Fish Ponds
In the month of July, we have managed to start the construction of two fish ponds which will accommodate six thousand (6,000) fingerings. One of the fish ponds is being constructed next to the old fish pond at Ebenezer Children’s ministry school and the other at the Dam which is owned by the government. We have been given an opportunity to use that piece of land for the fish project.
Poultry keeping.
We have also managed to acquire fifty birds that is to say turkeys and have used one of the classes to take care of them since Ebenezer school is not in use right now due to Covid
Farming.
We have come up with vegetable plantation near the fish pond at school, we hope this will not only boost our nutrition for the kids but provide a source of income to us to help meet other needs. We have tomatoes and egg plants in the garden.
Pastors Update
It was all challenging in the first week of July when my Mother in law passed on, it affected My wife and the children but as pastor I realized the only help and Hope Is in the Lord . With your prayers and support we got encouraged and strengthened and I want to thank Hope grafted in that she went an extra mil to send the financial support, thank you.
Current financial Needs;
Electricity Connectivity Project to school and church. The total cost to have this is 1,261 dollars.
Thermometer gun at the children’s home, school and church. To meet the stand and operating procedures for the ministry of health on prevention of Covid 19. Is important to have the thermometer gun which will help to measure temperature for the kids, staff and church members so as to know the infected persons and isolate them. Because of the big population we shall need two(2) thermometers guns estimated at ugx 1,200,000=333.1 dollars for the two.
The Ebenezer children’s home annual rent balance is 200 dollars to have this need met.
Strong hand washing tanks at different points at school, children’s home and church as a preventive measure to Covid 19. This will cost 208.3 dollars.
Sound equipment for the church, looking at the size of the church and following the number of the planned activities, the current sound system is not enough, we hope empowering the Ebenezer Christian center by equipping it with better equipment , thus making it easier to, hold open air crusades and conferences. To have two full range speakers 1,600,000= 432 dollars and amp mixture costing 1,000,000= 270dollars jazban estimated at 2,500,000= 676 dollars
